Canon 50mm f/1.8 Satin Chrome Rangefinder Screwmount Lens – Type IV For your consideration today, I am offering this beautiful example of a satin chromed on brass Canon 50mm f/1.8 LTM M39 screwmount lens. It is classified as a Type 4, manufactured between 1953 to 1956 according to Peter Kitchingman’s book on Canon M39 rangefinder lenses based on its serial number s/n 129351. This particular example for a vintage Canon 50mm lens, presents in a beautiful/mint/collectible overall condition. For a lens that is 65+ yrs. old, the overall condition is perfect! The focus on the lens is buttery smooth and the aperature detent clicks nicely on each f-stop. The front lens element is free of scratches and there are still a few specs of internal dust, and some light oil present on the aperature blades. The rear lens element may have a couple faint hairline scratches. Nevertheless, the lens will deliver stunning results whether attached to your screwmount rangefinder camera or when used with an adapter on your digital body or Leica M mount camera. An example of what this lens is capable of delivering in image quality can be seen in the last 3 pictures. Your purchase includes an aftermarket plastic rear cap to protect your lens, a Kenko UV filter, and the original chromed front lens cap. Please refer to the pictures for the general cosmetic condition. This lens is gorgeous at 65+ yrs. old! Thank you in advance for your purchase. The camera shown in the pictures is not included with the sale of the lens.
