This is the totally standard and unmodified D-340R from Olympus. It is a rather early digital point and shoot with optional panoramic mode, auto-exposure mode for different apertures from f:/2.8 to f:/11. It has an optical real image view finder. The metering system is TTL center-weighted. It has a CCD imager, so can (weakly) image from the near IR spectrum. Multiple flash modes, including red-eye reduction, fill, etc. Shutter speeds range from 1/2 sec to 1/500 sec, and are automatic, by aperture priority. It has an electronic (12 sec) self-timer. It has date and time recording. It has some direct print modes. But seriously, you were not looking at this camera as something to advance your photographic technical resources, were you?…you were looking at it, one presumes, as an example of period technology, perhaps better than some others from the period for its target market. Perhaps you have a personal museum? I am weeding out my old cameras, and for those that have not been outright stolen, I am also sorting out those that have no technical use for me, for I have limited space that is even more cramped as I regress technically back to more film. So this one must go. Did I mention that it has a NiMH charger that has in it two batteries that would still hold a charge at last check in 2020? All functions were working when I checked all modes of operation except printing. It has not had any exercise since. I would not ship this with batteries in it, but it takes standard Alkaline cells, too. The price is where it is to cover the nuisance of boxing it up and shipping it. If you know a cheaper way to ship other than USPS priority mail, that still would get you a tracking # and insurance, than I’m all ears, as long as that other mode does not require me to take the package to another town or look around for a bicycle messenger, or something similarly wasting our mutual time. Note, please that the major cost of this item is as a result of shipping costs. If you are local to Benicia, CA and want to pick it up to avoid shipping, that’s fine with me, as long as we could find a mutually agreeable pickup time. That would not change the mode of payment, however, because it is not worth my time to deal with changing payment terms on eBay. If I seem grumpy about this, it is as a result of eBay’s modes of recording sales and inattentive buyers. This camera is being offered to collectors of such things. Please, don’t bother with special offers after it has been sold. Please understand that if it were to be relisted because it had not sold in the first listing, that I am not soliciting offers. It will NOT have free shipping. Anybody who cancels an order for not having read the listing would receive a bad buyer review from me…there are too many such creatures. It would come with all the hardware shown in the picture, including the original manual, for those who care more about the manuals than the cameras.
